What is AR welding training?

Augmented reality (AR) welding training lets a trainee weld on real-looking practice pieces while wearing a helmet with a built-in stereovision headset. Tracking markers on the torch and workpieces let the system follow every movement and show a realistic weld pool, bead and sparks inside the helmet.

Because nothing is actually melted, trainees can repeat an exercise as often as they need, with no material cost and no safety risk, and instructors get an objective score for each weld.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the AR Welding Trainer need a welding power supply?

No. It simulates welding rather than producing a real arc, so it runs on a standard power outlet.

Which welding processes can trainees practise?

MIG/MAG (GMAW), flux-cored (FCAW), TIG (GTAW) and stick (SMAW), on flat plate, butt, T, lap and corner joints, pipe and pipe-to-plate exercises.

Does it score the trainee's welds?

Yes. The trainer scores each weld and tracks student progress, giving instructors an objective view of every trainee.

Are all training kits included?

All components and training kits are available. Tell us your training needs and we will configure the right package.
